Gary Beale: Rings (Location 1)

Hi, I'm Gary Beal, and yes—I'm an artist. That's still a little strange for me to say because I spent much of my life operating heavy equipment, building wetlands to create habitat for waterfowl. It's not the path most people would expect to lead to handcrafted jewelry, but that's exactly where it brought me. My journey into ring making started with YouTube. After watching skilled craftsmen transform ordinary materials into beautiful rings, I finally thought, "Why not? I can do that." So I did. What I discovered was more than a new hobby—it became a passion. There's something incredibly satisfying about taking something as ordinary as a coin and turning it into a one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art that someone can treasure. As my skills have grown, I've challenged myself by creating rings with stone inlays, each one unique in its own way. Looking ahead, I hope to collect interesting stones during my travels and incorporate them into future designs, making every ring tell its own story. I've also begun crafting rings from deer antlers and a variety of hardwoods. They're some of the most challenging pieces I make, but the finished results are as unique as the materials themselves. Every ring I create is handcrafted with care into a one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art that someone can treasure for years.
