I create a depth of surface and form through the use of textured clay, layered glazes, wild clay, wood ash, and fire and heat from the kiln. I am fascinated with the serendipitous interaction of the clay, glaze, and fire, causing the user to have "unanswered questions" that reveal themselves with the using. My pottery is a product of my own creative thoughts and experimentation, filtered through my training in the style of my teacher, Adam Scoggin, who learned from Bauhaus-trained potter Marguerite Wildenhain.
